]]>In 1992, a group of Houston lesbians became aware of national research showing lesbians at increased risk for breast, lung, ovarian and other cancers, as well as heart disease and stroke. Determined to help reverse this trend, the esbian Health Initiative of Houston was formed. For nearly 20 years, LHI has been eliminating barriers to healthcare for LGBT-identified women by providing health and wellness information and services through education, access and advocacy programs.
